The BBC with The New Seekers
Today started at about 4:45am I was laying in bed and waiting for my alarm to go off at 5am. Boy was I excited. I think I have had all of 4 hours sleep at most. So, up I got, had a quick shower, then headed over to my friend and one of the 5 members of The New Seekers. We were then going in Mick's vintage Limousine to London. So, Mick Flinn, Paul Layton, Donna Jones and their manager Nasty Nick (lovely really) all drove into Central London. Sadly, Francine and Mark (the other members) were not coming on this trip.

First stop was BBC Radio London and we had to be there for 7am. We got there about 30 mins early and took a slow walk round to the studio.

The presenters were Paul Ross and Joanne Good. It was a very fast moving breakfast show and very good. Paul and Joanne were very nice and extremely professional.

So much so, that I am now going start listening to their show in the mornings.

So, that was short and sweet and then we jumped back in the vintage Limo and headed over to BBC Wood Lane (HQ) and got inside and headed for the BBC Breakfast set. Once we got in we were escorted to the New Seekers dressing room.

My mate Paul Carey then arrived as he is helping the New Seekers with things at the moment. Mick, then got his extremely fabulous spanking new Hofner 12 string acoustic guitar and the three of them warmed up with a quick rehearsal. They were going to perform one of their biggest hits from the 70's "Teach the World to Sing". We were then swiftly escorted to the main studio where they had their microphones clipped on and made ready for an interview and there performance. The comedian, Harry Hill was on before them and Sir David Attenborough was on after them. In the photo below, the band with some nice live shots taken by me behind them were chatting to Charles one of the presenters whilst off camera, the other presenter, Suzanne was spraying her hair and checking herself out in the mirror. That was quite funny..

It was a busy studio. We soon left there and headed off for a coffee before Paul, Mick and Donna were doing three radio interviews via ISDN from the BBC headquarters.

After all of them we headed off to BBC Radio 2 and went to the Steve Wright in the Afternoon show near Langham Place, London.

I wasn't allowed to shoot during the Steve Wright show. Apparently Steve had been photographed this week by some Papparzi's and the Daily Mirror in the UK ran a story about him being over weight. So, photographers were not in his good books. So, I watched from the gallery. We did do a couple of photos before we left outside of Steve Wrights actual studio.

Then we headed back to the Vintage Limo and our, by now, very tired driver Mick Flinn drove us out of town to sunny Chorleywood.
