Off to LA with my brother Simon. We have a few appointments today. We are off to Torrance, Compton, Orange County. Then finally we are back into LA to meet up with the Los Angeles Fire Department. The station we were meeting at is station 61 in the Fairfax area, near the Grove Mall..

We arrived and met up with Mike Johnson the station Captain. He and his team had been fighting the fires up in Santa Barbara and other areas of LA.













Once we were there he showed us around and then in the middle of that a 911 call came in and we were off. It wasn't a fire, but a lady who appeared to have broken or dislocated her hip in a gym.

The Fire Brigade being an emergency service will attend as they are also paramedics. It was very interesting flying along through LA on the wrong side of the street.

We arrived at the Gym and in we all went.














I didn't take any photos of the casualty as Mike requested. I need to be officially embedded with them before I can do that.

I will be arranging to do that when I am over next. Shortly after we were on the scene, Mike's other paramedics arrived from his Fire Station and took over and took the lady off to hospital. We then got back into the Fire engine and headed back to
base.

When we got back Mike continued with the tour of the station, when suddenly another 911 call came in.

This time it was a fire. So off again. This time Simon and I followed in his truck. Funnily enough, as big as they are, those fire truck, we couldn't keep up with them.

As we approached the incident, we g0t a phone call from Mike saying it had been called off. They were on their way back.

We then turned round and headed back to Station 61.

When we got back we chatted more with the fire fighters. They were all really nice guys and strangely quite a few of them were really into photography.

Simon and I were running out of time as we have to get back out of LA and up to Thousand Oaks to meet up with my parents. So, we said our goodbyes and headed North. All in all very different from my normal day in the music industry, but in many ways far more enjoyable and exciting. I cant wait until I get back and go out with them for a full day or so.
